IREEDS has a number of long-standing local and international partners. Our partners include governmental organizations, universities, research institutions and practice-based communities. Our network is built in accordance with our vision to establish an ecosystem of multidisciplinary research and expertise that are serving the sustainable development transformation of the Vietnamese society.

Our Partners

1. French Development Agency

French Development Agency (AFD) is a public financial institution that implements the policy defined by the French Government. It works to fight poverty and promote sustainable development.

This public institution is active in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean and the French overseas territories, where it finances and supports projects that improve living conditions for populations, promote economic growth and protect the planet.

In 2022, IREEDS established a strategic partnership with ADF to conduct an integrated study up to 2050 of the various socio-economic impacts of climate change and adaptation strategies for Vietnam. (GEMMES Vietnam Project). The project responds to a request from the Department of Climate Change of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, as the General Secretariat of the Vietnamese National Committee on Climate Change.

2. The French National Center for Space Research

The French National Center for Space Research (CNES) is a French government space agency. Its headquarters are located in central Paris and it is under the supervision of the French Ministries of Defence and Research.

During 2021-2022, IREEDs became a strategic partner of CNES to conduct VietSCO projects in Vietnam. By using remote sensing and satellite data (e.g. Sentinel-1 data), the project aims to monitor the impact of climate change on rice crops as well as calculating the socio-economic impact of typhoons.

3. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Organization

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) is an Australian Government agency responsible for scientific research. CSIRO works with leading organizations around the world.
CSIRO has advanced Australia with a range of inventions and innovations that have had significant positive impact on the lives of people around the world.

Since 2022, IREEDs and CSIRO have established the partnership to conduct research on the application of AI and Innovation practices amongst enterprises in Vietnam. The central aim of the project is to develop a future platform that aims to strengthen the connection between domestic and foreign researchers as well as connect the research and industry sector in the field of AI. The project is also co-funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam.

4. Low Carbon Development Center

Low Carbon Development Center (LOCAD) is a public non-business organization under Department of Climate Change (DCC), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE). In 2023, LOCAD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IREEDS to collaborate in specific activities about research and development of climate change and data science.

5. Ho Chi Minh City Space Technology Application Center

Ho Chi Minh City Space Technology Application Center (STAC) is a public non-business organization under Vietnam National Space Center (VNSC). The research area of STAC focuses on research, development and application of satellite technology and other related technologies such as remote sensing, GNSS, and GIS.

In 2023, STAC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IREEDS to collaborate in specific activities using remote sensing data and satellite data in order to conduct particular research projects.

6. Vietnam Institute of Economics

Vietnam Institute of Economics (VIE) is a research institution under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. Its fundamental function is to study theoretical and practical issues of Vietnam’s economy in the context of international economic integration serve the making of socio-economic development guidelines, strategies, and policies.

In 2018, VIE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IREEDS. In research field, VIE and IREEDS would collaborate on conducting national and international research projects. In education and training field, IREEDS experts will provide academic support and short-term training programs.

7. University of Economics Law

University of Economics Law (UEL) – a member of Vietnam National University in HCM City (VNU-HCM) is a higher education institution as well as scientific research and technology transfer center with high quality in the fields of economics, law and management in response to the demands of socio-economic development in the process of industrialization, modernization and global integration in Vietnam.

UEL has signed a MoU with IREEDS for the purpose of enhancing parties’ capabilities to provide additional quality to the research and education provided at VNUHCM-UEL.
